What this does not change

Affiliate relationships do not determine what gets recommended, how products are ranked, or what we say about their weaknesses. We recommend free and open-source tools that pay us nothing whenever they’re the better answer, and we say so when a paid product isn’t worth it.

If a tool we earn from is the wrong choice for your situation, the article will tell you that.

Any article containing affiliate links carries a notice at the top. There are no hidden redirects and no link cloaking. You can hover any link and see where it goes.

Why disclose at all

Because the US Federal Trade Commission requires it, and because you can’t judge a recommendation without knowing who’s paying for it.
